It is with great excitement and great anxiety that I am announcing my official registration in the Cape Cod Marathon on October 28, 2012! I've been debating over which marathon to choose and it was down to Bay State in Lowell or Cape Cod. My gut told me to go with the Cape, but I was worried about the slightly hilly course in the last half. However, Cape Cod is a beautiful place to run and a smaller field size. I think it was the right choice.
So far, my half marathon training has gone smoothly. I've gotten up to 14 miles and will hit 15 in a couple of weeks. The Boston Marathon was this past week and the heat was an awful thing for the runners. All of their hard work and training was a wash because the heat was demanding and overpowered even the best runners. I'm praying that the heat will hold off until after my May race.
