Anxious Run

This week I completed my 15 mile run -- my longest run ever! My legs felt great, my pace was on target and there was a cool breeze pushing me to the end. I knew I could do the distance after my 14-miler two weeks ago. And yet, I was anxious the whole time... anxious that I would have to go to the bathroom.

A few weeks ago, someone asked me how I could run for so long... "Don't you have to stop?" Ever since, I've been worrying about it. I've got many long runs to look forward to this summer for marathon training. I don't want to be uncomfortable, embarrassed, anxious, etc. That can't be good for my training.

My 15-miler was a huge victory for me. I still can't believe I could run that long. I did have to stop once and I think it was more of a self-fulfilling prophecy. Also, a bathroom happened to be conveniently located along the run.

I guess I figured, "Why not?" ;-)
